A cornerstone of the neighborhood since its opening in 1983 by renowned restaurateur Joseph Chirico, Marco Polo has long been a beloved local institution. Crown was entrusted with revitalizing this iconic venue—infusing it with a fresh, contemporary aesthetic that resonates with the area’s evolving demographic while honoring the restaurant’s rich legacy.
Formerly defined by bright orange signage, a dark wood entrance, and a green awning, the reimagined façade now features a refined, scripted typeface, glass-paneled doors, and an expanded sidewalk café that invites community engagement. Inside, Crown’s design seamlessly integrates modern elements with the restaurant’s storied past. Large acrylic art pieces featuring historic images of Venice line the walls, while sleek bistro-style tables and ribbon-like lighting elements bring a vibrant, dynamic energy to the dining space.
A carefully designed wine cellar—showcasing Mr. Chirico’s world-class collection—adds an intimate and luxurious touch to the overall experience. Crown’s thoughtful redesign of Marco Polo enhances both form and function, ensuring this iconic establishment continues to thrive as a cherished neighborhood landmark for years to come.
