Crown Architecture was selected to lead the transformation of a dilapidated, vacant Landmarked industrial building in the heart of SoHo’s historic Cast Iron District. Known for their expertise in navigating complex municipal agency processes, Crown was tasked with converting the structure into a revitalized commercial office and boutique retail development.
The scope of work included restoring the building’s historic façade, upgrading its infrastructure, and reconfiguring the interiors to accommodate both office and retail use. The project began with filing for a new Certificate of Occupancy to change the building’s designation from Manufacturing to Commercial. Crown successfully secured approval from the Landmarks Preservation Commission for the façade renovations and for the creation of a new, functional rooftop—seamlessly blending historic preservation with modern utility.
