Crown led the complete renovation of a landmarked Old Law Tenement in the Greenwich Village Historic District, seamlessly blending modern design with historic preservation. The scope included a full façade restoration—most notably the replacement of historic windows—reviving the building’s exterior to its original grandeur. Inside, a gut renovation transformed the interiors with contemporary finishes and reimagined layouts, all while preserving the building’s historic integrity.

Crown also managed all expediting efforts, including violation removal, ensuring a smooth and efficient approval process. A particularly unique aspect of this project was the legalization of an iconic Azulejo tile mural, affectionately known as the “Mystery Mural” due to the unknown origins of its installation. Crown conducted extensive historical research and community outreach to secure approval from the Landmarks Preservation Commission, preserving this cherished feature as a permanent part of the building’s identity.

Through strategic coordination and creative problem-solving, Crown successfully revitalized the property—honoring its historic significance while adapting it for modern living.
